Top opts for the traditional color way of navy and white.

Would you go traditional like the team colors below

Or would you mix it up a bit with a color, like this cap?

New Era Cap - A Brief History

The New Era cap is synonymous with the professional baseball, and has been since New Era cap introduced the 59Fifty fitted cap to professional baseball in 1954. In fact, each authentic New Era cap is the exact same New Era cap worn by MLB baseball players today.

New Era Cap - urban development.

In the late 70s and early 80s Americans started wearing caps worn by their favourite team or player. A trend eventually took hold and the New Era cap eventually made its way into every part of American life.

In 1994, New York film maker Spike Lee asked New Era cap to make him a fitted Yankees cap in 'unofficial' colours. At first they thought it was a strange request – who’d want a New Era cap that's not identical to the Pros? But Spike got the New Era cap he wanted, people noticed, and demand for 'non-Authentic' New Era fitted caps like his took off making Spike Lee and New Era founders of the fitted fashion cap.

New Era Cap - celebrity must have.

Today, the New Era cap is a design classic. And like with most fashion trends, music leads the way.

The New Era cap is worn by stars in every genre of music, from Country to Crooner, RnB to Rock and of course, Rap and Hip-Hop.

Female Celebs Represent New Era!

Once upon a time, snapback hats were just part of sports merchandise brandishing logos and names of sports teams. If you happen to be an MLB, NBA or NFL fan, there’s definitely a snapback hat for you (in different colors, that is.)

Fast forward to the 90′s when hiphop artists like Tupac Shakur and Dr. Dre made the snapback a hiphop staple wearing it from shows to music videos to album covers. Now, the snapback has made its timely comeback with the likes of Chris Brown, Lil Wayne and Jay-Z wearing it everywhere. May it be the typical snapback to the denim and leather ones, snapbacks are here to stay. That’s why, even high fashion brands like Givenchy have made their own version of the snapback (a brimless one at that). But non will compare to that of the brand of New Era....

An overview of the brand:

New Era is an international lifestyle brand with an authentic sports heritage that dates back over 90 years. Best known for being the official on-field cap for Major League Baseball, New Era is the brand of choice not only for its headwear collection, but also for its accessories and apparel lines for men, women and youth. The brand is worn as a symbol of self-expression by athletes, artists and some of the most interesting people around the globe.

Today we are seeing the brand everywhere and worn by everyone and especially a new trend worn by even the ladies.

Rihanna is often photographed wearing one pairing it to her shorts, jeans, leggings, even dresses.

Feast your eyes on the other celebrity chicks strutting around globe in their snapback hats.

First up is Queen B, Beyonce representing NYC.

Here’s a true blue New Yorker, Lil Kim.

Even vampires love ‘em!

KStew and RPatz

Nicki Minaj likes her snapback in bubblegum pink.

Some like theirs edgier. Leather is better for Brandy and Ciara.

Even a supermodel rocks one (back in the days…)
